Ronkonkoma Middle School

At Ronkonkoma Middle School, excitement soared—literally—as seventh grade students in Mr. Giagios’ Technology classes launched the model rockets they designed and built themselves. This hands-on project wasn’t just about liftoff, it was the culmination of a deep dive into aerodynamics, propulsion and the real-world application of engineering concepts.

Leading up to launch day, students explored how design decisions affect flight performance. Equipped with tools, materials and detailed instructions, they created their rockets, applying both creativity and problem-solving skills.
